Yoshi is from the crazy movie Bunraku, which is about a samurai without a sword and a gunslinger without a gun team up to fight the Woodcutter. The world is a post-WWIII Earth in which guns were banned by what little remained of the people. Big cities are ruled by gangs and smaller towns have gone back to simpler times, like the village that Yoshi came from before he met Drifter.
